After much research, it has come to my attention
that there are very few single-sex establishments in Indiana.Still a controversial
subject to many, there are many benefits to single-sex schools, especially to young women. Not only do girls gain self-esteem and are able to hold positions of leadership, they also succeed academically in
a single-sex setting. The goal of the Inez School for Girls is not to exclude
boys, but to help girls who need to be nurtured academically through their adolescence. This school will provide another choice for students and parents in Northern Indiana.
My personal goal is to have a fully functioning
board by September of 2007.By the end of 2007, I intend to have a five year
business plan written, a 3 year budget, and by mid 2008, I plan to have a principal/head of school.By the end of 2008, I intend to have a faculty established, and within nine months of the school’s
opening, the admissions process will have begun. At present, it is predicted
that the Inez School for Girls will be open in fall of 2009 and will have a premier class of 45-60 sixth grade girls. For the next six years, an additional class will be added annually so that eventually,
the school will service girls in grades six through twelve, graduating the first class in 2016.
Mission Statement
The mission
of the Inez School for Girls is to create a partnership with parents, educators, and the community to educate young women
from all walks of life, economic stature, and race. The school will provide girls
with the leadership skills, motivation, and educational framework to succeed academically, socially, and professionally.
